Licensing Exams

Our club does not host licensing exams. However, there are many resources in this area for those who wish to take their Technician, General or Extra exams.

If you are testing for the Technician License, first apply for an FRN Number at the FCC website.

Exams are hosted by:

ARES Northwest, the local Amateur Radio Emergency Services group, which meets on the first Saturday of every month at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, 15107 Vanowen St., Van Nuys. Exams are held at 11 a.m.

The PAPA Repeater System, at their meetings at Lulu’s Restaurant, 16900 Roscoe Blvd., Van Nuys. Contact Norm Goodkin, (818) 613-2257, hamclass@goodkin.net, for information.

GLAARG, the Greater Los Angeles Amateur Radio Group, offers remotely administered exam sessions. Applicants can register for a remote exam at https://hamstudy.org/sessions/glaarg.
